After our great success at the inaugural Shine Ball earlier this month, we are delighted that our team at Lomond School have already begun to continue fundraising for Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF).
The Inspire Catering staff at Lomond School have decided to walk for 24 hours to raise money for MRF. They won’t be walking all at once (who would make the school meals that day?!), but rather over a series of events, in a bid to raise a target of a generous £1,000 for MRF.
Their first walk took place last week through Helensburgh and Rhu, near to Lomond School in the picturesque surroundings of Argyll & Bute. The team finished half an hour earlier than their target time which is a great achievement, especially for the first walk.
We heard rumours of aches and sore feet after the first walk but nobody has been put off, with the whole team looking forward to the next walk already. The team will be heading off to Callander next, to walk around 4.75 miles to Fall of Leny on 14th May.
Well done to all walkers and thank you for taking up the challenge to raise more money for our Inspire Catering Charity of the Year – Meningitis Research Foundation.
Comment from David Pease and Lorna McFarlane, Owners, Inspire Catering:
We are really delighted that our Catering Manager, Claire Lane and her entire team at Lomond School have embraced the Inspire commitment to raise as much money as we can for such a great cause. One walk completed and five to go….well done team!
