Delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the CIS Excellence Awards – which should have taken place at the end of May last year – reopened for entries in the summer after the health crisis interrupted the nominations process in March 2020. The awards are held in partnership with The Caterer and recognise and reward high degrees of creativity and excellence in Scottish catering.

Having faced the most challenging year, Scotland’s hospitality sector has made significant efforts to innovate, improve and excel over the last 11 months in the face of unprecedented challenges, and at Inspire, we are exceptionally proud of how we have adapted and what we have achieved.

Kevin Simpson, Managing Director of Inspire stated:

“One of our key commitments is to provide a range of healthy options across our sites, which is why The Healthier Scotland Award Category means a lot to us.

The current pandemic has affirmed the need to keep our immune systems strong through the ingredients and portions that we consume. So, continuing to innovate our recipe ideas to encourage healthy eating without compromising on taste is the core aim behind the food we serve every day, whether it be in a business site/café or school dining room. With the support of the Healthy Living Award, we believe we are doing our bit in making Scotland healthier.

In due course, we will hopefully be able to have a ‘non virtual’ celebration, but for now, congratulations to all the Inspire Team and thank you for your hard work!”
