We’d like to extend a huge congratulations to our owner David Pease who completed the Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday 23rd April. He took part in the gruelling running event in aid of Inspire Catering’s Charity of the Year, Meningitis Research Foundation.
With a shock calf injury striking David just a couple of weeks before the marathon, we are delighted that David has been able to complete the 26 mile challenge, and has proclaimed he would be inclined to sign up to do it all again!
David’s fundraising target for the marathon was £5,000, which he managed to completely smash thanks to some fantastic support from friends, family and those connected to Inspire Catering. At present, David has raised almost £7k through his JustGiving page for the marathon, which is still open at present.
David said, “What a fantastic experience running the London marathon 2017 for MRF turned out to be! It was a really wonderful day and the support and encouragement was tremendous. It was also very special to meet the other MRF runners and the organising team after the race.
“The memories of the day, the money raised for a special charity that means a lot to me personally, the sense of achievement of having conquered the challenge, and the support provided to me by so many people will stay with me for a very long time.”
This takes the current total fundraising from Inspire Catering to approximately £32,000 – and we’re only at the start of May! The total includes funds raised from our Inspire Shine Ball which took place in March, David’s Marathon fundraising and from our team at Lomond School who are walking for 24 hours to raise cash for the charity.
