Our Inaugural Shine Ball Proved a Huge Success

We held our inaugural Inspire Catering Shine Ball on Saturday 4th March and are absolutely thrilled at the success of our first major fundraising event. Held in aid of Meningitis Research Foundation, we are delighted to have raised far more than we expected on the night.

Exceeding expectations

It gives us great pleasure to announce that we managed to raise a total of £25,000 for Meningitis Research Foundation at the ball. Not only is this more than we could have hoped for from our first Charity Ball, it also represents around 10% of MRF’s fundraising budget for their financial year 2017/18 and is therefore a very meaningful contribution. All funds raised in Scotland contribute to the invaluable awareness and support work that goes on as well as funding research and ongoing Scottish projects.

The money was raised through a combination of ticket sales, donations, and the amazing generosity of our guests at the auction on the night. There were some fantastic prizes on offer – we would like to thank all winning bidders for taking part and hope you enjoy your auction prize!

Fantastic staff effort

Of course, the Shine Ball would not be possible without the input and exceptional efforts of our staff at Inspire Catering. Our Culinary Competition winners cooked up a storm on the night, with canapes and four mouth-watering courses which went down a treat with guests. This, along with our excellent service teams made sure everyone enjoyed their meal and that everything ran smoothly and seamlessly throughout dinner and the rest of the evening.

Huge gratitude

As well as giving thanks to our staff and the guests on the night, there are many people we wish to extend our gratitude to. Without them our ball would not have been possible. These include our compere, Alex Fleming, our clients at Wood Group for enabling us to use their outstanding building –  Sir Ian Wood House as our venue for the ball, our suppliers for their generous donations and to every single person or business who donated prizes and money to support the whole cause. We thank you all for your generosity in helping us raise over £25,000 for Meningitis Research Foundation.

“What started out as a personal ambition of mine to run the London Marathon for Meningitis Research Foundation has evolved into an Inspire wide charity effort of which the Shine Ball is the first of many fundraisers! I have been overwhelmed at the enthusiasm and generosity of all involved from our own Inspire staff to suppliers and clients alike. I am also extremely proud of the £25,000 raised and can’t thank everyone enough.”
