Inspire Catering Choose Meningitis Research Foundation as Charity of 2017

One of our core values from day one at Inspire has been Responsibility. Whether our responsibilities to our staff and customers, or on a wider social scale, we are committed to giving back and doing what we can. Whilst we have supported many worthy charities over the years, this year we have chosen Meningitis Research Foundation as our Inspire Charity of 2017.

Meningitis is an illness close to our hearts at Inspire Catering. Owner David Pease is particularly touched by the illness as his daughter suffered from meningitis in her early 20s. Although his daughter has made a full recovery and was treated by some of the best professionals in the country, there is still much to be done in terms of understanding, curing and preventing the disease. This is why we would like to offer our support to Meningitis Research Foundation in 2017 to ensure they are can continue to carry out great work.

Fundraising efforts

Throughout 2017 we will be undertaking a number of different fundraising initiatives to raise as much money as we can for Meningitis Research Foundation. Our first efforts began at the end of 2016 when we sold charity Christmas cards, designed by Victoria Pease, David’s daughter. 100% of the funds raised from the sale of the cards was donated directly to Meningitis Research Foundation.

Our biggest fundraising initiative however will be our inaugural Inspire Shine Ball which takes place on 4th March. This event will comprise of a 5 course meal, with the evening’s menu chosen and prepared by Inspire Catering’s culinary competition winners. We will be raising funds through the sale of seats/tables and through various methods on the night, including an auction. More information on our Shine Ball will be shared on our news page soon.

David Pease will also be running the London Marathon in April for the charity, and as the year goes on we will continue to make donations and support the great work of Meningitis Research Foundation.

Lorna McFarlane – Owner, Inspire Catering:

“Running the London Marathon and fundraising for MRF began as a personal challenge for David as it is a charity close to his heart. We have always supported worthwhile charities at Inspire and it made perfect sense for us to embrace this as our chosen charity for 2017. Sadly, we don’t realise the benefit of these wonderful organisations until we need them, that is why it is so important to support them when we can and work together to raise funds to assist their cause as detailed in Meningitis Research Foundation’s own vision”.
