Inspire Chef Success at ScotHot

We are delighted to announce that our very own Tony Bukhsh has won not one but two awards at this year’s Culinary Championships at ScotHot 2017.

Tony entered the Contract Catering Chef of the Year category within the culinary competitions which took place at the SECC, Glasgow on 15th and 16th March. His skills and expertise earned him a bronze medal, as well as the hygiene award in his category. Competing against a number of finalists after initially submitting a three course menu, we are delighted with Tony’s result!

Tony is the Head Chef at Kelvinside Academy, consistently providing healthy and nutritious dishes to help children aged 4-18 thrive throughout their school day. He has worked with us for a number of years and we’re always impressed by the quality of his food, so it comes as no surprise that Tony had not only made it to the final in his category, but also picked up two accolades at the ScotHot event.

No stranger to competition, Tony also took part in our first Inspire Culinary Competition earlier in the year. Here he prepared dishes for consideration for our inaugural Shine Ball Fundraiser which took place on 4th March. We were really delighted with Tony’s suggestions for the menu, and he was selected as an overall winner for the vegetarian canapes served on the night. You can see more from his Inspire competition entry in the video below.

David Hunt, Group Executive Chef, Inspire Catering:

“We are delighted that Tony’s commitment, hard work and culinary skills have been recognised both at ScotHot and as part of the Inspire team who prepared an outstanding dinner for our guests at the Shine Ball.  We are really pleased to see Tony continually develop his skills as a chef, and how he embraces the personal challenge of a competition environment.”
