Representing the GB Golf Team at next years’ Special Olympics is not par for the course!

Inspire Catering’s Caitlin Dodds has been selected to represent the GB Golf Team at the Special Olympics World Summer Games 2019 in Abu Dhabi.

Caitlin, who has been a keen golfer for around 9 years has been selected as a Level 4 Athlete. Caitlin received the happy news this month and had this to say: ‘I’m very excited and honoured to be selected for Team GB for Abu Dhabi. I will train hard and do my very best to make everyone who supports me very proud’.

Inspire Catering have supported Caitlin by supplying a new golf bag and waterproofs.

Owners David Pease and Lorna McFarlane said: ‘This is an absolutely incredible achievement for Caitlin and she should be extremely proud of her selection to represent GB at this prestigious level. Everyone at Inspire wishes her the best in what we’re sure will be some very exciting months ahead.

We suspect that the waterproofs will most likely be of use during her training months in Scotland rather than the Summer Games in Abu Dhabi’!

Jamie McDonald, a golf coach with Special Olympics Lothian, has been selected as Head Coach for this event and had this to say: ‘Along with my Assistant Coach, we will do all that we can to make this an experience to remember for Caitlin and the rest of the team. I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone at the first GB Team Training Weekend’.
